Sales team I need convincing
Hi There,
This is one for the Volvo sales dealers out there, if I came into your show room and expressed an interest in the C30 but said i was also looking at the BMW 3 series coupe, what would you say to me to convice me I should buy the C30, you wont know that mty heart says buy the C30 but my head says the BMW, also bear in mind here I'm not going after a discount i need the sales pitch and the reasons why the C30 is the better purchase, i would be trading in a 4 year old BMW 318Ci aganist the Volvo, lastly if it did come down to it should i expect to get any freebies thrown in, whats the best i can expect, its the convincing i need more than anything else here Regards Dell Boy |

C30 T5

Hi Dell Boy, Interesting that you should mention this... I'm not part of a Volvo Dealership but I was in a very similar boat to you.
Before I settles on my C30 T5 I looked at getting the a 325Ci. I was never able to test drive the actual 325Ci I wanted because 90% of the BMW Ci's in this town are convertibles, but I did some comparative driving and follow-up research. Here's some of the reason's I decided on the C30 T5... > There are a million BMW's on the road here and they all carry a stigma (Bloody BMW Drivers) > The Ci models although unique in their own right still look like a normal 3 series at a glance. (The C30 has new unique styling that pleases me no end). > Here in South Africa after sales service of BMW's has dropped radically while Volvo Service is now rated amongst the top three manufacturers in South Africa. > I never had a moment of problems with my old S40 which I drove for three years. BMW "problems" are notorious and are notoriously hard to rectify. > The feeling I got when test driving the Ci was that this was not a brand new innovative car, it also felt a little on the heavy side (Probably due to the rear-wheel-drive). > The C30 T5 felt new exciting and fulled with features and a solid but light build quality - It somehow feels more sporty and ready to please when you drive it (Could be to do with the weight). > The fuel economy and CO2 emissions are better with the Volvo. At the end of the day it was a tough decision, they are both great cars... I think if I'm honest I'd have to say that the C30 stole my heart and I havent looked back in fact the love affair has grown stronger! ![]()

If you want very-good handling, then go for the BMW. If you accept "just" good-handling, then take the C30. |

i remind posters that we're trying to sell this guy a c30
"what would you say to me to convice me I should buy the C30," so we accentuate the c30's positives and highlight the bmw's negatives. we don't say the c30s handling is "just" good. ps for uk members who read the daily mail, checkout today's motoring piece on the bmw 118d. it's classic on the reputation that bmw drivers have.

I don't work for Volvo........but i'll say one thing: If you want something different and something that attracts attention BUY A C30!!!!!
If you want to be bland and be like everybody else go ahead and buy the BMW. If you get a 3-series I don't think you'll ever have anybody asking about your car when you stop for gas. Again, if you don't like that feeling go BMW. |
