Put deposit down today in USA (what is your dealer telling you?)
I well I put my 10% deposit down on an Electric Silver T5 1.0 today!
Any other USA customers out there? What are you being told as far as when you'll get your yours? I'm told...built early July. Will sit in a port until late Sept/early October when Volvo does there 'offical' launch. At that point the car will be forwarded to my dealer for pick up. -Scott |

Each dealership will get two demos:
1. A level 1 in brilliant blue 2. A level 2 in cosmic white / java Those'll hit our incoming pipeline in July, with order slots coming soon after. The demos arrive in late September, so the sellable cars should arrive pretty soon after, probably early October. What options did you pick? |

I'm curious - have you driven the car yet, or will your dealership give you your deposit back if you have second thoughts when you do? Even after I sat in both of them at the NY autoshow, I'd still be afraid to pull the trigger without a couple of test drives first.

Nope.. I haven't driven the car yet, haven't even seen one in person. If for whatever reason I want to cancel the thing I'll loose my deposit. Or what I'm hoping is that the dealer will buy it back..and if it's a hot car maybe I'd make some $$ to sell it back to them.
I was told the I was the 1st person in US to place a factory order deposit. Not sure if that is true. but here is what I got: C30 T5 1.0 (sorry just don't like the ground effects) Sunroof 477- Electric Silver Matallic 5A7C- Off Black with Quartz CR- Climate package 438- Bi-Xenon 033- Cruise Control 016- Fog Lights 159- Dynamic Chasis 4B- End pipes 038- Spoiler 167-Foldable Mirrors (don't know why..just sounds like a fun option) 078-soft load cover 437- ALum Inlays 113-Rear Arm rest 049- Trip Computer Does that sound like screwy options or in line with what a typical dealer may order for stock? It was pretty fun to 'build' .. took me hours.. and spent alot of time on this board 'researching. |

Sounds like you're getting a really nice car. Which wheels did you go with, the mestras?
We haven't talked much in-house about what we'll be ordering. I imagine yours would be something we'd carry for customers looking for a somewhat loaded car. Are you gonna do anything with the available accessory pieces? Our parts guys can't wait because of all the available dealer-installed equipment. Here's what I've got figured out so far: Level 2 - Electric silver with matching bodykit - black leather - moonroof - electronic climate control - autodim mirror with compass - IAQS - bi-xenons - sport steering wheel - aluminum inlay shifter - leather handbrake - basic alarm - cruise control - surf-pattern aluminum console - sport pedals - sport mats Jury's still out on the wheels, and I'm hijacking the painted mirror cap idea, specifically shadow blue. I plan on keeping this thing as a weekend car once I'm done with it as my daily driver, so I'm going all out on the order. |

Yeah.. I'm sticking with the Mestras...I kinda like them.. at least for $300 to upgrade..I like them that much better I only got he CR package because I wanted xenon headlights... Why don't they make that and Cruise control standard? It looks like from reader pics that most of the "my car" pics have xenon. Is this where the US is getting screwed? I'm really debating about the stereo upgrade. $800 for this option seems extremely steep |

PS.. I didn't see "sport pedals" as an option on the list my dealer gave me. Do you have the 'code'/price?

Volvo's marketing the car differently here than they are in a lot of other countries. For instance, we only get the T5 model, while there are a ton of other choices out there. The car's being pitched as something extremely sporty that you can customize to your exact specs. So for that reason, and to keep the price down, things like cruise and the alarm are options. That's also why we only have the one actual option package (climate) and a bunch of stand-alone choices, while in other countries the car seems to have a range of available packages. Xenons are probably in one of those. As far as the stereo, how important is your music to you? Volvo's standard stereos are usually very solid, and anything with "Dynaudio" in the name is absolutely killer. This might be a question for someone who already has their car, though. He or she will probably have heard the difference first-hand. Almost forgot, the pedals. I can't find the part number for them, but I can tell you where to find them. Go to www.volvocars.us and open up the link in the bottom right corner that says "Trick Out the New C30". Go to the accessories page. You'll find them in that list. A lot of the cars in the "members' rides" thread have them if you want to see actual pictures. Your dealer can install them before you take delivery of the car. |

On my European C30, the electric folding mirrors that are part of the Summum equipment level are unfortunately not automatic. You have to press the L and R buttons on the armrest simultaneously.
A bit of a nuisance, but still useful in certain parking conditions.

My dealer tells me middle of July they will have two demo cars. One with a body kit, one without.
At least I have a knowledgeable sales person who is enthusiastic about the car! |

Shomare,
Can you double check with your guy? According to the last thing we got from Volvo, each dealership was slated for a level one (brilliant blue with no body kit) and a level two (cosmic white with java bodykit). They'll show up in our incoming pipeline in July, and actually arrive in September. If New York's getting their cars early, I definitely envy you guys, because that's so not fair! ![]() |
