The new Volvo C3o is running fast out of the gate in Europe ahead of its U.S. launch this fall

That's good news for Volvo's ambitious plan to sell 600,000 vehicles per year by decade's end ( up from 420,000 last year), but there's much more to come-

Possibly even a sporty car along the lines of the PV544, the 123GT, or the 1800S says a source from Gothenburg: "Event a totally sensible and safety-consious brand like Volvo must have an emotional product to support its halo." Unfortunately, that car is far from confirmed, and it wouldn't appear before 2011.

This ultracompact crossover is expected in 2011. Sharing elements with an upcoming baby land Rover, it would be available in three and five door form with optional four wheel drive.

One of my all time favorites and where my love affair with the brand began. My uncle owned one. A dead spider helped to gage speed.




A Volvo 123GT:

Beautiful car. Seen a coupe that have been hotroded and the can be spectacular.




A Volvo 1800 S:

One I'd love to own as a collectors car some day.
