New to the world of Bloody Volvos :)

Hi all,

New to the forums so thought I'd say hi!

I picked up my Brilliant Blue Pearl C30 T5 Geartronic on New Years Eve and have been finding every possible excuse to drive it hehe.

I had a mildy modded '06 WRX STi previously but wanted something that was quick around town, luxurious and more comfortable...and wasn't a GTi/Mini! Since the C30 was relatively new and different, I thought I'd check it out!

Here are some pics of the C30 out in the Yarra Ranges with a mate's MkV GTi.

Well, hope you like the pics (let me know if you can't see em and I'll post em on Picasso or Flickr)! Holla, if you see me cruising around Melbourne/Regional Vic!

Cheers,
BlueRacingStripes.

Hehe thanks Ovlov, I did certainly give the GTi a run for it's money ;-)

He has been waiting for me to get this car and ditch my STi so he finally has a chance to keep up lmao.

Thanks Matt,

Yeah it probably was me lol, I usually take Smith St on the way home from work.

I purchased the car as a demo from City Volvo.

Yeah, only problem with euro imports - that damn wait time!
Well if it makes you feel any better mate, my friend with that white GTi in the pics had to wait ONE YEAR for his car - 7 months more than due date - but the worst part was the service - total incompetence on the VW sales team!
The highlight was 'uh...the boat has arrived in Aus but we've lost track of the container - it didn't arrive with the boat' - seriously would you ever tell a customer you lost track of his car in the middle of the friggin ocean lol?!?!

Anyways, a little more waiting might make getting the car that much more of an occassion! Be sure to post pics up when you get it!

If you catch me again on Smith St do say hi!

Bias opinion from me of course Trevor, but yeah the looks is what swayed me to the C30...the Golf is nice but very pedestrian.

I do like the way the GTi drives though in comparison to the C30 - I have the Low Sport Chassis on mine and the GTi still feels far ahead in terms of brakes and suspension tune. I suppose 'cause the C30 is chasing more the luxury hatch market.

But I'll soon fix that! I've ordered an Evolve Rear Anti-sway bar, brake pads and SSBLs + Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Koni FSDs and they should be in mid-late May.

I'll post impressions+pics on here once they are all installed!

Great to hear - sorry it took a while for me to get back to you - I was in Sydney for training and the only shut eye we managed to get was in the training sessions lol.

I will be sure to say hi if I see you! What colour C30 did you order just to narrow it down a little?

Nice pictures BRS (Li).
Been up that way as well and there are some nice drives in the hills for the C30, well both models I guess.
Stay posted.

I saw one that matched this description in St Kilda a couple of weeks ago. Stunning colour for the C30. Mine is Electric Silver (which I love), but the Blue was oh so nice.
