Had my service yesterday and it cost just over £200 for my 1.8 petrol. Everything fine except for the fact the put an air freshener in the car that did not smell good!

Just over £200, 2.4i Petrol. No air freshener thank god, but a nice little present on the front seat which consisted of 1Lt of Engine oil in a little plastic bag. How nice I thought, then checked the bill and found I'd been charged £10.56 for it. Went and complained, strongly, and had an offer of a refund but decided to keep just in case.

My 12.5K service on a C30 2.0 Diesel cost £167. I supplied my own oil and asked the service manager what else I could do to cut the cost. The car is only 6 months old, so I guess some items were deleted as unnecessary, and the cost came down from £250 to £167 which included turning the daylight running lights off .

No doubt l am stating the obvious, but l trust you are all aware that since 2004 car owners are not obliged to take their vehicles for service to a franchise type dealer - in this case Volvo.
What l am saying is that we as Volvo owners can take our cars to be serviced at any garage of our choice, and it will not impinge on our statutory rights under the terms of the guarantee or warranty. I had mine attended to at somewhat less cost than prices quoted on here by fellow members. Regards, Graham |
