VCNA Price Protection Program

Just gleaned this bit of info from Swedespeed.com and thought I'd pass it along as it may be invaluable when it comes time to negotiate price on a future C30 purchase.

Couple things - VCNA has a little-known price protection program.

When you order a vehicle with a deposit, the dealer is supposed to fill out a "price protection form," print out a copy of your order (with the all-important FYON#) and have it available in the event of a mid-model year price change. That way, you're unaffected by the increase - it's one way that both the dealer and the consumer get to participate in the best possible experience together.

So ask them to fill out the "price protection form" with your order... if they don't know what that is, tell your salesperson to search VRC2 for it and watch 'em go slack-jawed. If they pretend like they don't know, ask 'em if they finished the Volvo learning class on VRC2, and enjoy the squirm even more

Hello!

I'm hoping to get a C30 very soon. I asked my CA about the price protection program, but he says there's no way they can fix the finance rate. Also, looking at the referenced link, there's a user who replied:

Hey DealerDave...check out the price protection yourself. It does exist, but was for a 2005 MY price increase in July 2004.

There was a SIMILAR program last quarter for the RSE/Holiday Sales Event, but it wasn't exactly the same.
Can I confirm such a plan exists? I intend to do OSD, being able to fix the rate when I order will be very helpful to me...

Thanks in advance...

Whoa whoa...its a fixed sales price so that in the event that a mid year price increase occurs during your process, your agreed upon price is safe from increase.
As for finance rate, you simply cannot lock that unless they have a program going as they mentioned. Finance rates, as Im sure you know, are always changing with the economic climate. We wont get into economic climate though

I was just told that now that they have switched from a captive Volvo financing program to a preferred arrangement with Nations Bank, they CAN lock in a financing rate, so you're guaranteed the price you agreed to and no more than the financing in place when you order, as long as you qualify when the car comes in.

When I special ordered my can I could not finance it until they had a VIN number. That took about 4 weeks to get after they started the build. Then I ran into the problem of only certain banks giving me a loan because the car was not here in the states. Had to make the first car payment before I even got the car.
