Couple of things.

Aimed at UK owners really, anyone had retro fit on the hard load cover, trip computer and parking sensors?

Was it easy to sort out the parts, did you DIY or let the dealer do it and how much were the parts please?

Alternatively, anyone work at a dealers and can price me the components for the above improvements please?

Lastly, anyone got a photo of the rear showing the location of the rear sensors? I fitted some on my old Vectra and that had the drilling points marked on the inside of the bumper, would Volvo do the same do you think?

Ta,

Mick

apart from the hard load cover i think the others 2 items require programming/software downloads so a dealer visit is required.

these are the installation instructions for the trip computer and park assist

this post shows the rear park assist sensor locations

http://www.c30world.com/forums/showp...36&postcount=3

the price list for factory fitted options shows rear park assist at £350 and hard cover at £150 but i would expect the park assist to be more if retro fitted due to increased labour(take apart and reassemble)

1721, with regard to the Trip Computer/Information Centre, before we ordered the wifes car we were looking at the S and when building one on the Volvo web site, one of the options is the Information Centre at £200. Now to my knowledge every GB model includes this option above the S but when talking to the dealer we were told we could not have it and would need to move to the SE.

I went so far as to email Volvo regarding this, pointing out that if I was allowed to include it on the web site why couldn't the dealer add it on the order. The answer came back via a phone call from my local dealer, I'm not dealing through him for this current purchase, and he too confirmed this is not possible. Gave up at this point as the wife had decided she preferred the SE, guaranteed really, it costs more.

Regarding the fitting of rear park assist, it would seem that after stripping what appears to be the back half of the car, the risk for rattles and the odd scratch appearing could be huge.

1721, thanks for the info. The park assist looks interesting, i wonder if i could make an aftermarket kit fit with the existing harness to give it full functionality.

Trip computer looks a doddle, time to talk to the dealer to see about programming afterwards.

Where did you track down the install instructions, ive searched all over for something like that? EDIT, found it by playing with the URL. Wealth of information there, thanks again.

Lionel. good point about rattles afterwards. I was an AA man for 17 years so quite happy to take stuff apart and put it back together agin. A lot of people wont touch their new car, quite rightly, but i always add stuff on so im not too concerned.

Cheers for the info guys.

Hi Mick,

Did you have any luck with UK retrofit Trip Computer. Would like to do the same to our C30 1.6D R Design. I have had an initial 'No Can Do' at local dealer but they are looking into to it further. One thing I have noticed is the stork on the R-Design model has all the right buttons as the SE. I am wondering if all that needs to be done is just the VIDA reprogamming.

regards,
Terry g(UK)
