C30 recall - Volvo C30 Forums and Community

I just heard on the radio Volvo is recalling 49 500 C30/S40/V50's built in Gent and sold in Europe between 2005 and 2007 due to a defect in the diesel particle filter that may set the engine on fire (although no incidents have been reported yet). A software update will have to be installed to fix the problem. Nothing to worry about I'm sure.

Heard the same thing on radio here in Norway today. Nothing official from volvo yet.... We'll just have to wait and see...

Volvo calling back 49500 'Gent' models

volvo is calling back 49500 cars that were produced at the plant in gent.
the decision was taken because there may be problems with particle filters on diesel engines.

the cars were assembled from 2005 onwards and were sold in europe.
about 6600 cars in belgium are affected by this problem.

the faulty particle filters may cause the engine to be set on fire, but at the moment no such incident has occured.

the involved owners will be notified and receive a software upgrade concerning the involved filter
