C30 1.6 Momentum in red

My name is Constantine and I live in Greece. I currently own a Honda Civic 4d 1.8 Auto ES YM2006 (same as the hybrid -EUDM- but fitted with the 1.8l engine) and I am driving the car since April 2006. So far, the car has 46000km and everything runs smoothly.

Today, I am going to place an order for a C30 1.6 Momentum , as I have decided to sell my car, due to the fact that I can still get a decent amount of money back. The 1.6 might me a bit underpowered, but the 1.8 costs 3000 euros more. The extras are going to be the following:

Xenon
BLIS
Nordic Light Oak centre console and door panel inlays
High Performance audio system

Hey Constantin,

I am going for a 1.6 too. Also worried about the power but people keep saying it is good. Not a racing machine but good. Adequate is prolly the word.

1.8 costs here 2000EUR more. Croatia. Other then the money issue, I am not allowed to drive more then 100HP for first 2 years of driving. :|

I ordered the car today with the extras I mentioned above. Although I had decided to put the Celeus wheels (I don't go for 17" wheels as the engine is just adequate), I saw the car in Orinoco Blue fitted with the Crius wheels and I really liked it. Therefore, I specified it with the Crius wheels.

Now that I returned home, I configured the car and I am not sure whether the specific wheels are looking nice with Passion Red (which I ordered). I can still change the order by 1100 tomorrow morning and I would appreciate any opinions.

I just went with Isis. They look the best in the lower price range (arguable). I didn't expect that alloys will cost that much and paying 1500EUR for alloys is not something I would do. It is just me course.

In Greece, you can specify any 16" wheel with no additional cost and 450 euros for 17" wheels.

Good day Constantine and welcome to the privilege of owning a C30. I am interested that you chose the Bliss option. It didn't seem worth the 720 euro (equivalent) when I ordered mine but, now that I've had mine for 4 weeks, I am begining to see that you have made a wise choice. Traffic in my part of Australia is easy compared to the big cities of Sydney or Melbourne and very much easier than I've seen in parts of Europe

The Xenons came standard with the T5 engine here and I am very glad as I probably would not have opted for them otherwise. They make all other car headlight systems look like the headlights on the old 6Volt VW beetle form the 1960s or earlier!

Can't wait to see the photographs, especially of the interior with the Nordic Oak.

Well, I finalized the order. I was thinking to add the sunroof, but I didn't as 1080 euros for a normal sunroof seemed to me expensive.

The complete spec are:
Red Passion exterior with Kalix in Offblack/T-tech with red carpet
16" Crius wheels
Xenon
BLIS
Volvo guard alarm
Rear parking sensors
Nordic Light Oak centre console and door panel inlays
High Performance audio system
Hard load cover

In 10 days, I will know when the car will be delivered.

Hey guys,

I tested the 1.6 24 hours and it was quite O.K. It is not a beast, but think that it also depends if you are comming from a diesel or not (I used to have a diesel). Just dream about changing to a T5 in 2 yaers

BLIS sounds interesting. Guess you'll be the first here to have it. So just keep us informed how it works and if i is worth the money.
Rear parking sensors are very good, I got used to it to our famliy T5 (VW Multivan ) I don't wanna miss them anymore, although my dealer says you don't need them at a small car like the C30 is. I would wish there would be front sensors, too.

Probably you'll get a BIiG X-Mas present, don't you? Wish you all the best and just keep out of mischief!

Well, I am coming from a 1.8 liter car with 140hp, but since I am covering a lot of km per year, fuel economy is also very important for me. I will definitely let you know regarding BLIS.

I wish that it would be my Xmas present , but I doubt it. I was told that it will take 2 to 2.5 months....

Regarding the alloy wheels, just to clear up the situation :
In Europe we have trim levels named Base,Kinetic,Momentum and Summum.
base is basic and summum is full options. Depending on which you choose you get certain optionals like wheels, air conditioning etcetera.the kinetic has steel rims or 16" rims (only for the T5) , the momentum has 15" (up to the 2.0 engines) or 16" rims and summum has 16" on all versions. but if you choose alloys different from the ones included, you only pay the difference in price. thus, the higher the trim level, the less bigger alloys will cost. hope you understand what i meant.
Cheers

that's odd. front sensors are listed on the international website features but aren't listed in my local pricelist or build and price configurator. have they removed it because it just wasn't selling or is this another mistake?

I have noticed the same thing. Also, in the manual, available in volvocars.com, the front sensors are mentioned...

My dealer told me there is no possibility to get the front sensors from factory.
They are aftermarket and their dealership installs them to those who orders the rear sensors - not for free but for a little little extra.
