OBX Racing Sports

I am trying to get some feedback on a company called obx racing sports out of California. They seem to have a wide variety of exhaust systems for volvo and I have recently come across a new product for the C30. I have asked some questions regarding the product, and the dyno claims. What I know is that the product is a 2.5" asian made copy of the Heico dual tip. Compared to the almost 1K price of the heico, it may be worth looking into. I am a bit leery of this group since they are using the heico red c30 picture in the online ad and I can't get any backup to the dyno claims. Here is a link to the site, any feedback regarding your experience with this company would be appreciated.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/OBX-R...item5ad6f34d29

That's an awfully cheap price. I'd be leery of that too. I've never had any experience with OBX but I do know they make a boat load of exhaust components for a lot of different makes.

I have a OBX mid pipe for a Honda CRX but never installed it. It's still in the garage. It looks like a well made piece, and I know a couple of others that were running onw with no problems.

I am however a BIG believer in "you get what you pay for".

Indeed. It's worth noting that -- despite the lovely, shiny appearance -- all stainless steel is NOT created equal. The price is laughably low to begin with, and let's not forget that they are allowing offers. So they're obviously willing to sell it for closer to $200, and they'll STILL make a profit!!

And -- even setting aside the R&D that has been factored into the cost of the brand name CBE systems -- the price they're asking wouldn't even pay for the material in the brand name systems.

Admittedly the inevitable failure of this component is unlikely to cause any damage to your car, but you'll just have to replace it (or parts of it) prematurely. Honestly - I would run away.
